Our History

Rehabilitation Centers LLC, d/b/a Millcreek, has been providing quality behavioral health services for emotionally disturbed and developmentally delayed children and adolescents for almost 40 years.

Millcreek is the largest private provider for children and adolescents in the state of Mississippi and was the first provider of child and adolescent services in Mississippi to receive The Joint Commission accreditation.In 1976, an Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/MR) was established in Magee. In February of 1990, due to an urgent need for long-term psychiatric services in the state of Mississippi, Millcreek opened the first Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) in the state of Mississippi. Day Treatment services for the emotionally disturbed and developmentally delayed were opened in 1994.

In 1976, the Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) was established in Magee. In February of 1990, due to an urgent need for long-term psychiatric services in the state of Mississippi, Millcreek opened the first Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). Day Treatment services for the emotionally disturbed and developmentally delayed programs were opened in 1994.

In November 1999, a 12-bed Therapeutic Group Home that provides long-term care for male adolescents with serious emotional disturbances was added to Millcreek’s continuum of care. Another 10-bed Therapeutic Group Home was opened in January 2003. These Therapeutic Group Homes are currently located in Brookhaven and Raleigh, MS.

In February 2006, Millcreek Behavioral Health opened a Day Treatment program in Meadville, Mississippi. In 2010 an additional Day Treatment program was opened in Clinton and later moved to Pearl, MS in an effort to serve the densely populated central Mississippi area.

Millcreek was acquired by Acadia Healthcare in April of 2011. Since that time, Millcreek has focused on enhancing quality care and customer service. As a result, Millcreek is recognized as a leading provider of behavioral health care in Mississippi.

In 2012, Millcreek opened the first Supervised Living homes for adults with intellectual disabilities (IID). Since that time, Millcreek has become the largest provider of this service in the state and currently operates twenty 4-bed supervised living homes located across the state.

Millcreek began providing an array of community-based services in 1999. This program serves Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and is certified by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH). Services and supports are provided to eligible individuals and their families to enable individuals to remain with their families or return to their community from a congregate care setting. Services include respite care, behavior support/ intervention, attendant care, therapy services, supported employment, supervised living, day habilitation, and prevocational services.
